Interested in getting involved? Please email [email protected]. We are always looking for additional support, whether that be serving on the board, being coach or asst. coach, a team parent, or helping at events and gameday.

Requirements for Coaching/Volunteering for BAYAA:

All coaches must pass a background check through Protect Youth Sports as part of the BAYAA/GMYAA commitment to safety and as part of our requirements for field usage at Iredell Statesville Schools. All checks across the GMYAA are maintained in a centralized database for accountability.
     • Authorization for BAYAA to run a background check can be completed here

All coaches must complete a Level 1 Certification through USA Football (certificate of completion will be required) within the past two years:
     • Tackle Certification: https://footballdevelopment.com/youth-certification-tackle/
     • Flag Certification: https://footballdevelopment.com/youth-certification-flag/

The USA Football Certifications includes the following courses:
     • Health & Safety*: Concussion, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat & Hydration, Emergency Action Planning (EAP)
     • Abuse Prevention**: Includes both sexual abuse and anti-bullying
     • Practical Coaching & Team Management
     • Principles of Safer Contact / Foundations of Flag Safety

* Health & Safety must be passed every four years regardless of Certification Level. In addition, a user must pass a quiz to test their knowledge if they have previously completed and certified in the previous year. If a user passes the quiz, they will not need to retake Health & Safety that year.
** Abuse Prevention must be completed every two years regardless of Certification Level
